Stevie Smith and Rachel Atherton Qualify Fastest in Leogang 16
Qualifying in Leogang is done, and the cards are on the table. Stevie Smith continues his recent good run of form, taking top qualifying spot by over one second, and with it the 50 points on offer. With Mick Hannah managing to squeeze in between the 2 overall title contenders, Stevie is now ahead of Gee in the overall by a 3 points - which basically means that whoever is fastest between the 2 tomorrow will win the overall. Gee has been here before, and last time around he came out victorious by a tiny margin - will experience prevail, or will Stevie's current form and speed carry him through all the way? Tune in tomorrow to find out...
In the women's, Rachel laid down the law and consolidated her position atop the overall leaderboard. She has a more comfortable margin than Stevie in the Men's, but won't be counting her chicken before they hatch. Special mention to Jill Kintner bringing home a very respectable (and personal best ever World Cup qualifying result?) third place, just 4 seconds back.
It's all to play for in tomorrow's finals - don't go anywhere! And now is probably a great time to make your Vital OTB predictions too, for a chance to win a Rockshox Vivid shock!
