Red Bull Brazil Picks Up Whip Off Worlds Winner, Bernardo Cruz
Red Bull Brazil announced that they recently added Bernardo Cruz to their squad. You may remember Bernardo from his ridiculously sideways performance that earned him a victory at the Vital MTB Whip Off World Champs in Whistler last summer. Well done Bernardo, and smart pick, Red Bull. -gordo

Impossible not to think about the mining town of Ouro Preto without remembering its history, its famous churches and artist Antonio Francisco Lisboa, better known as Aleijadinho, which marked his name in the national culture through their art carved mainly in soapstone. And there's only one thing Ouro Preto has more than churches, slopes. No one understands the slopes of his home town better than Bernardo Neves Cruz.
A mountain biker since 2005, Bernardo joins the team of Red Bull athletes, along with other national athletes like vert skater, Sandro Dias. Prior to competing in mountain biking Bernardo was a fan of Sandro's vert skating, but acknowledges that "riding bikes was more fun."
Bernardo says, "Riding a bike for me is my hobby, not a job. It's my passion, my fun. Even when I'm racing, I do not see it as an obligation. I think more like a descent into a workout. I focus only to do my best because I know so I can get a good result."
"It has not sunk in that I am part of this team that has guys like Gee Atherton. Having the backing of a brand like Red Bull, who lives the sport, is really cool and it's important for me to keep evolving. "
"I have great respect for all downhill athletes, but I know my potential and I am ready for bigger success. My father helped me in the beginning and took out a loan, which he was paying for years. So one thing I really like to think is 'always believe." I always trusted in my talent and my ability and I'll win a lot, but only got where I am because of the support I received from my father since the beginning. "

red bull always searches for riders that stand out, and with his style he definitely does, and if there is a chance of him getting really fast, it's a great deal for red bull, I think!!

Some will envy him, but he is the best rider in Brazil, no questions asked.
Nicely done Bernardo! I believe this is just the beginning of it all...

This is ridiculous, there are so many good riders in Brazil, much better than this one just like Markolf, Nata Giacomozzi, Wallace and Red Bull decides to sponsor this one? Who likes this guy?
