Marzocchi Facing Financial Troubles, May Close

According to an Italian Newspaper, Tenneco-Marzocchi is facing some major financial burdens. Tenneco absorbed Marzocchi three years ago.
The FIOM-CGOL trade union stated that a recent management meeting arrived at the conclusion to "sell or close" the mountain bike portion of Marzocchi. The newspaper wrote that the business has lost over $22 million in the past three years and the future is uncertain at this time.
It would certainly be a big loss to see one of the industry's most iconic brands disappear.
We've contacted Marzocchi and are waiting for an official comment. Stay tuned...

Marzocchi makes the best stuff around now. Try the new Switch travel adjust 55 and see what I mean. The forks and shocks use much less air pressure to hit the sag and work properly. Dont fall for the next gizmo gadget cell phone sag o meter from Fox. If you are 175 lbs like me you can run 100lbs of air in the shocks. Can you say long seal life? Try that with a DHx air or rp23- I have to run 190-200 psi. Can you say no small bump compliance and seal degredation?

I hope Bryson Martin can at least get some 2012 Shivers out the door , he was thinking of developing them with magnesuim internals . I will trade my fox 40 for your 888 ti evo ,with nikel plated stancions..

Interesting to say the least... But, if you know Bryson, you know he isn't going to just let it go... He has dedicated way too many years to Marzocchi's MTB product to just walk away...

The bike shop owner in my PNW neighborhood told me several years ago that Marzocchi was gonna go belly-up, ........ as he was having many people returning forks with warranty issues - and they would take 6 months to return, after being sent in. He said the company "went to shit" after they started MAKING the forks in Taiwan, and not in Italy anymore. I was sufficiently spooked by him - to not buy any of their forks for my "real" bikes, anyway.......

i had the 04 888r when they 1st came out and they were awesome. then made the mistake of running boxxers both older and the newer versions, constant warranty issues, constant rebuilds and seals. the last thing you want for a whistler bike. after all the problems marzocchi have had in the past i was hesitant about the 2010 888rc3ti but a couple of mates said they were back in form. iv had my 2010 888rc3ti for 2 whistler summers now riding/racing a hell of a lot. they feel and preform better and you dont have to touch them! still on the same seals never leaked and have done 3 oil changes over 2 bike park seasons. ask anyone on them to compare them to boxxers and i bet you they say they will never go back to boxxers!

I sure hope they are fine. I've just got myself a pair of 55 rc3ti evo forks. I can not reccomend them highly enough, they are better everywhere than the Boxxers, lyrics and 36 floats I've worn through the uppers of (despite monthly servicing) in the last 2 years. They have more grip everywhere, and really feel like cheating. Anyway if the worst is happening I'd say buy a pair if you get a chance you will not regret it.

I thought all their moto forks were still made in Italy. Which is the bigger part of Marzocchi business moto or mtb?

You know what it's inaccurate and they are not going anywhere. I just switched to the 888 Ti Evo and it's lighter then my 40, has way better small bump sensitivity and should require way less rebuilds since it's open bath on both sides. Fox is awesome at marketing but I had to rebuild my 40 way to much and it did nothing for small bumps. Try for yourself.
