Day 1 of the Enduro World Series has wrapped up in Finale Ligure, and it's been another day of tight racing and leader board drama. After a lengthy injury hold on stage 1, stage 4 ended up being cancelled, so the overall classification after day 1 includes 3 stages only. Furthermore, Nicolas Lau was assessed a 1 minute penalty for a time control delay, which dropped him out of the overall lead he was holding and down to 20th place, leaving Jared Graves on top of the standings with Jerome Clementz a whopping 1/10th of a second behind. Junior Martin Maes continues to impress, winning stage 1 and contending on stage 2 before a crash on stage 3 saw him drop 20 seconds and slide down to 4th overall. Still very impressive riding from the young Belgian.

In the women's, Anne Caroline Chausson finished the day on top after swapping the lead with Tracey Mosely during the 3 stages - but with only a 5.7 second margin, it's still anybody's game tomorrow. Cecile Ravanel sits in 3rd 57 seconds back.
