Check out Aaron Gwin aboard his new Specialized Demo 8 at Fontana today. We can see Fox suspension, Renthal bars, Avid Brakes, SRAM shifter and rear derailleur (his jersey indicates SRAM, too) and DT Swiss wheels. More updates as we get them. Troy Lee Designs helmet and riding gear keeps him looking dialed! Thanks for the pics,Dan!

Yep, those are the new Giro shoes, called Chamber. Due to hit shops around the end of March. Details on Giro website: http://www.giro.com/us_en/products/men/cycling-shoes/chamber.html

this is what it took to make the 40 and the demo compatible without those stupid bumpers

I heard that the Fox 40 compatibility issue is only with alloy demo frames but not carbon ones.

Carbon Demo frames still do necessitate the use of special bumpers. The downtube's profile is changed from that of the alloy vairant, yet standard Fox bumpers do not fully protect from frame/fork damage.

We found the stock Fox bumpers work well on the Carbon. What are you seeing that I am not? What bumpers are you suggesting?

That Demo looks way lower at the front and more
racked out then a standard , it may just be the FOX 40 though . I would have thought he would have a custom paint job on the frame ,the LTD carbon frame looks the goods .

I was lucky enough to sit near him in the Shuttle van. Really cool and friendly dude and his bike was sick in person. I dig the murdered look.

+1. I met him at nat's just after my run and he was coming out of registration. Introduced myself and asked for a pic. Very nice guy, very nice. Walking back to the pits he was asking me about how the course was doing. Even remebered who I was when my boss asked him for a poster at interbike a few months later. I would still like to see him on Trek, but racing is racing.

I can understand the Sram shift/derr, but Elixer brakes? Was the failure at worlds not enough? No Monkey either? Like to know if big red S is making run their tires like they with Sammo? The shoes are the new Giro's. I want some of those since my 5.10's are shit.

I thought I heard that the S deal was a Frame/tire program and the rest up to him.

Look closely, y'all. Elixir 9 up top and Code caliper at the bottom. Popular, effective combo for those who can't get on with the shortish Code lever.

I recall that the brake failure was on the shimano protos he used to have on TWR

That's a sweet looking Demo 8, always thought they looked better with the Fox 40 than the Boxxer, since the first days of Kyle Strait riding it to his Rampage win.

I think it's the whole new team, seeing how only fox is carried over from his former sponsors.
