i dont know alot about mt bikes. i ride bmx. so i read some reviews on my bike just for the hell of it and almost every body says the forks are shit. they say suntour on them or something. i see alot of bikes with them. why are they so shitty ? do they lock up ?

It's because the damping sucks. I'll let someone else with better articulation explain what that means.
