I know I'm a few years behind the curve but I just got a video camera and wanted to know what is everyone using for video editing software?
whats good and cheap or even better free?
what should I stay away from?
I use a Microsoft but I have access to a mac.

Macs come with Imovie, that is what i have been using for mine. Its no final cut pro, but gets the job done

http://www.avid.com/freedv/ is a good one so is windows movie maker. here is a top 5 list of freeware. http://www.desktop-video-guide.com/top-5-free-video-editing-software-review.html
