Just got an Ipod for the first time in like four years and I'm looking for some new music. What artists/songs get you pumped up to ride? I'll start things off with a few that I'm partial to:

I just tried riding with music at Ray's for the first time last weekend - I really liked it - I don't think I would downhill or xc with music but I definitely do when I'm road riding.

Last week I was listening to Beastie Boys, Moneen, Deftones, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Jay-Z, Kanye, NIN, Nofx, Rage, Bouncing Souls, Rise Against, System of a Down, Thursday ... and then some cheesy hip hop stuff that's fun to bop around to.

I don't usually use headphones when I'm trail-riding or downhilling (too much distraction, want to hear the tires and mech noise) but I definitely listen when riding or digging DJ's. For digging it's a must.

I'm hooked on the Love Grenades, I like some of the RJD2 stuff (Roam, etc... I think everyone likes that stuff... btw I have an mp3 of the track from Roam with Peaty in Sun Valley)

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are cool too, Wu Tang is good to ride to, etc...

Grime, dubstep, drum n' Bass, instrumental hip-hop, strung-out indie stuff and funky, groovy stuff mostly. Also a lot Ministry of Sound compilations when I'm riding the stationary bike (Addicted to Bass, Chillout 2009, etc.).

Beaty, dark stuff like:

Chase and Status, Pendulum, Caspa and Rusko, Benga, Skream, High Contrast and DJ Krush

More rockish and indie stuff like:

The XX, Gossip, F%$^ed Up (the band),La Roux, and Calvin Harris

Used to be a hip-hop head (and still am) but I can't get into it as much anymore....too negative and shallow for the most part.

Oh yeah and lots of Lady Gaga.....not
