coming down to the freaking wire! schladming this weekend for the epic overall battle.

here are the points right now in the overall
sam hill 1219
greg minnaar 1203
steve peat 1150
gee atherton 1078
mick hannah 929

quali runs and final runs determine points, so there are 2 chances to rule it or screw it up.

CAN'T WAIT (usual incredible coverage from the boys and VitalOTB turning on soon)

I'm wishing the Utah boys luck. Mitch raced in Idaho earlier this year and destroyed us all. It was a relief to find out it wasn't just us Idaho slow pokes he was putting the screws to. Hopefully Pascal can pull off a podium in the DH. He had a great timed practice run, 6th i think, but flatted in the finals which really sucked.

Wouldn't it be epic for Peaty to leapfrog both Minaar nad Hill and take the World Cup crown too? :D

Hill is going to take away the win and the overall. We all now what he is capable of when it's technical (maybe wet) and he seems to be more relaxed than the year before.

My bet for Schladming:

1. Sam Hill
2. Gee Atherton
3. Fabien Barel
4. Greg Minaar
5. Steve Peat
6. Mick Hannah
7. Brendog
8. Aaron Gwin
9. Blinky
10. Nick Beer

Can't wait for another dose of sick coverage. Be good to see Brendog and Blinky stir up the top 5 again and make it really great final.

It's Sam's to throw away.

Bring it ON!!!

(But what are we going to do AFTER Sunday when we have to wait 8 months for the pathetic little 6-race series in 2010?????)

Sam Hill had a number of incidents last year and looked very clunky, probably because he'd just found out that he'd lost the overall. He will be hungry after worlds, I just hope he doesn't crash... Almost every run he's had this year has been heart-in-your-mouth edge-of-your-seat suspense on which way the rubber side will face. If it continues to face down, he should take the overall; even last year, when he was running into trees, he still beat all of the other contenders in this years world cup with ease.

Sure, but if sam had stuck that drop at andorra he would be untouchable. If peaty was in the lead now he may still have been able to be beaten this year, at this race. He must have flatted on something, and it was probably a pinch... while flats are annoying, they are still your fault.

I don't particularly care either way, I just wanna see great racing on a great mountain.
