"Chicago-based SRAM International Corp., which makes bicycle parts, said in a filing Tuesday that it hopes to raise up to $300 million in an initial public offering of stock.
The figure is an estimate used to calculate the fee for the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. SRAM didn't say how many shares it would sell or at what price.
The company plans to use the ticker symbol "SRAM."
SRAM said it had sales of $524.3 million and net income of $50 million in 2010.
The company designs and makes bike parts from gear hubs to brakes under brand names such as SRAM, RockShox and Zipp that are used by bicycle manufacturers including Trek, Cannondale and Schwinn."
