Well, I've been riding BMX for about 1.5 years.
I've recently gotten interested in MTB. Been looking into this bike just to start on.
Is it a decent complete for the buck?

Eh.........Id try for something with at least a deore group.If you do anything but just plod along,you will hurt that bike.I bet you have more $ invested in your bmx bike.

Yeah, I have around $1800 into my bike.
I just want this bike to shred the trails and what not. I'll just save up more and maybe get a specialized rochopper?

Much better.Id spend another hundred and get the disc brake model.Disc brakes are so much better,it's not even close.
