Minnar for a Million!?!

9/29/2010 10:18 AM

Obviously, we wouldn't be having this conversation if Minnaar wasn't already on Whiteley's 23 Degrees roster, but I don't think the TWR project's object is to build a team from free agents. With the exception of Mosley, Whiteley has a track record of providing support to athletes who are in their ascendancy rather than buying championships.

I happen to agree with this strategy. If you want to go back to the above mentioned football analogy, it's been proven time and again that you can't simply throw a bunch of money at free agent talent and expect to have a trophy for the front office at season's end. It just doesn't work that way. Nurturing worthy talent from the ground up is the way to go.

Then again, DH isn't a team sport; and there's some deep pockets in ol' Wisconsin.

I do think the V10 suited Minnar but who knows, the Session is a fast bike. It would have been interesting to see him go to Specialized/Monster energy I think. I wonder who yeti will replace Gwin with?
Minnar is ridiculously fast on W/E he puts his leg over so I doubt it matters but 2012 season will be incredible to watch!

2012? We first have to start the 2011 season...

EDIT: and it was said that CRC are ending the Intense deal. So what, Nukeproof bikes for the people left in the team (if Matti and CK really do leave)?

Intense are you setting up a factory team then?

Seriously. This is hilarious...

ride (build+maintain) = a sh!tload of fun.

Did I hear that UCI will move from 4X to Dual Slalom next year? Man I hope so.

Might that mean that a lot of DH guys will go back to racing Dual and become two event ponies?

And might that mean that certain riders become more valuable to certain teams?

Hmmmmmmm!

why didn't he pass to Bloomberg, hes alooone on the left!" why isn't goalkeeper coming out to him, what an idiot! They should not buy this prick from Barca nooo!

I can already see the DH version of that: three experts on a couch with a beer trying to sound knowledgeable to each other: why did he took the line to the right?! Hill just cleared these roots after jumping off the log to the right! noooo! shut up Andy he couldn't do with Fox 40, only guys with Boxxers can hit that!

man, its fun, to guess....

if you dont like it, dont read it....

Specialized did that with hill. In two years, they got a world cup overall and a world champ.

That's from last year. He could have bought out the contract, though.

It appears it's still the same team (Monster and the personell), they just switched the bike manufacturer from IH to SPec.

with minnaar and whitely doing a deal in bringing in those helemts minnaar uses...... AND being signed to 23 degrees it could be already nearly under way. no matter what way you look at it Minnaar will kill it on what ever he rides

Gravity....I fought the law but the law won

10/5/2010 7:30 PM

Pretty sure Greg signed at least a two year deal with SC this year. So that would mean no changes until at least 2012. Since when does Dh pay that high anyway?! Just sayn'!

It has been confirmed that Minnaar will again be on Santa Cruz.

He likes SoCal better...? Bummed I won't get to see him shred the local shuttle trails.

11/3/2010 4:29 PM

Gwin moving to Temecula means he will be riding a Trek with Leov, Mosely, Neco and Willow.

Neither Goldman, Bryceland, Minnar nor Peat live in Santa Cruz or California. Just the same as Hill and Bronson dont live near Morgan Hill. (although you may be on to something there, i just noticed Hill > Morgan Hill.
