This photo was sent to us from Crankworx Rotorua claiming it's Fabien Barel on Canyon's new downhill bike.

Fabien has alluded to a new DH bike on his Facebook page with this cover photo, and Canyon has a mini site dedicated to the bike's upcoming launch.

Here it is in action:

There's not a whole lot to see, but post any news or pics right here if you see it out there in internet land.

When I see telemetry, I think of Gravity Republic right away.
Weren't there rumours of them riding for Canyon at some point?

Why ? DH racers especially the french have been using Telemetry since back in the mid 90's on the World Cup scene!

I like how they used the black and white cammo like the auto and motorcycle companies do.

UPDATED - sven sent over this interview with fabien barel. he discusses the bike a bit as well as some things he's been working on with mavic and urge. since we've had this thread going for a bit now, i'm putting everything here instead of a separate feature article.

Its called Razzle Dazzle you nOObs, they used it in World War 1.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dazzle_camouflage

"the intention of dazzle is not to conceal but to make it difficult to estimate a target's range, speed, and heading" so it makes sense for a prototype frame to be conspicuous yet hard to hit with a torpedo, or measure head angle.

Don't see their usual ISM shaping around the nipples, so perhaps their first carbon MTB offering?

Amer Sports (parent company of Mavic) just purchased Enve a few weeks ago. Perhaps this is an Enve wheelset painted to look Mavicy

The rims have eyelets, so definitely alloy. Also enve has internal nipples.
I think it will be a while until we see results from that ENVE purchase. First MTB product will probably be XC and not rushing into the relatively small and literally tough DH sector.

Is he riding a smaller wheel in the front than in the back in the second to last picture?

I highly doubt it. But that picture does make it look kinda that way.
