I live in Florida and in my area, no downhill, a little bit of Freeride but a few hours away from me,
So I am looking at buying a Scratch, because my bike has to be very trail rideable because most of the time I can't make it to the Freeride spot.
So my question is, if hypothetically we took a 2011 Scratch 9 and swapped the components to a 2009 or 2010 Session 8 or 88 frame, what are gonna be the major differences? Will it be almost the same bike? Will the weight be close?
Anything you can think of?
I am a former 05 Session 77 owner and loved that bike so I am hesitant to get the Scratch (although I am getting it) over another Session.
Thanks in advance for the info
also, if you take a 203mm fork from a Session and put it on a Scratch, it would change the geometry b/c the front end would be higher than recommended. Any of the stock Scratch bikes are pretty freaking solid and capable as is.
Thanks for the info man, nice bike too, wish we had terrain that warranted having one.
I just wanna make sure the Scratch isn't too light, I like it to be mid 30's
if you put DH tires on the scratch, mid-30's is probably right where it would sit. have fun. keep us posted with pics!
