A couple of years ago we were hired by Sanyo's ad agency to do a series of action sports videos with their then new Xacti Dual cams. While the videos were way too commercial for our tastes, we were pretty impressed with the Dual Cams. The HD video mode had some great features including 30, 60, and 200 frames per second - the later for some really good slo-mo effects. The still mode snapped off high quality 7 frames/sec 8MP images and even the audio inputs worked well.

For whatever reasons (including a lousy ad campaign and marketing) the Xactis don't sell well and can be picked up at 30% or more off retail. So if you're looking for a video / still cam for most sports neeeds, including waterproof versions, check out the Xactis.

Here's a bike video we shoot for Sanyo featuring Greg Watts, everything including all the video (30,60,200 frames/sec) stills and audio, came from the two Xactis we used: Greg Watts and the Sanyo Dual Cam
