I used to ride bmx and now I am looking to get into DJ mountain biking. I want an 8 speed because I wanna be able to ride trails if I want. Also, I want a bike that is strong, has good front suspension, and can take a beating. I have been looking at bikes like the Haro steel reserve, and the Trek ticket stubs. Are these worth the price tag ($1500)? Also Im 6 foot tall so what size frame should I be getting. Each company's S,M,L systems are different so I mean top tube length. Thanks guys.

Hey man. Welcome to Vital.
8-speed really isn't manufactured anymore, so you'll be looking at 9-speed. Most DJ bikes are built to take a beating, so you should be fine there. Size wise, at 6' tall, you'll definitely want the L. Usually 5'10" is the cutoff for Mediums.
The hard part is finding a DJ bike that can be ridden on trails (I assume you're talking MTB trails, not dirt jumps here). Most DJ bikes have a really low downtube, which means you'll need a really long seatpost to actually be able to pedal while sitting.
Price wise, anything above the $950 mark is usually a pretty solid bet for a dirt jumper.
