If your trying to save weight are carbon parts the way to go.

Carbon is often lighter, and you'll likely find that it improves how your bikes feels, too.

My advice is to concentrate on lightening anything that spins (wheels, tires, brakes, cranks, pedals, etc). Rotational weight is far more noticeable than weight that doesn't rotate.
