The opening round of the 2009 UCI World Cup of Mountain Biking took place in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. A brand new venue with some questionable shuttle service, the South Africa track was a bit pedally, but offered a quality race. Greg Minnaar took the when, in his hometown.
