Additional Info

-First my english its not perfect ok...........Restoration of and old awesome 1998 Rotec Pro DH. New School components but in a budget. I dont have much money right now...........New paint and stickers. ............Rear end custom from the old 10x150mm to the new 12x150mm standard. -Old a2z rear brake adapter (it has the 2 hole pattern like old treks and jamis)............Standar rear adapter filled cutted to fit the space..............8mm bearing spacer put in the rear axle because in a 12x150mm hub the huge disc will crash on the frame. Ti bolts all over the frame.............chainline was a pain in the ass. Now almost perfect..........rear tire rubs the shock canister a little, have to fix that.............the bike has to be ridden with a 0mm or 10mm stem, to feel the motorcycle design intended by the designers. The only such a short stem is the Onoff stoic, but I coudnt find it yet................this frame was designed from a kawasaki dirt bike, thats why the long wb and weird dedign. It was way ahead of its time. Back then nobody like them. Headangles where in the 68-70° range, short wheelbases, high BBs, etc..........................Tested for the first time yesterday 05/09/2014. The bikes rides like a looong limousine, its fast like light speed. It Brakes like a ferrari with the 224mm discs. Yes its heavy but overkill built. ................Not good in tight technical 180° corners. At first the steering feels weird, hard to turn, and the rear wheel drifts everywhere.................... After a couple of runs I adapt to the geometry and start to enjoy the trail blasting. It takes at least 5-7 runs to adapt and learn how to weight balance on this rollercoaster bike. Impossible to endo, and very difficult to wheelie. ....................Best position is to attack the front of the bike on tight turns or it is very difficult to enter the rear wheel where intended. Easy to pedal with a perfect suspension and sag setup, luckily im good at suspension setup........... On fast sections the bike can literally fly, u just let go off the brakes and let the bike achieve mach 9. Incredible stable, never ride a thing like this. It is almost unreal how fast you can go on this behemot. Anyway, I love the bike despite the cons.............................I Own a intense m9 but next race in a couple of weeks I will be on this monster. I hope a get a podium on a 1998 bike, that will be unreal. Its a wide open course, perfect for this killer machine.........-It has 6.8" rear travel.........................I restorate and build this huge bike because I think ITS THE ONLY PRE 2004 Dh frame that has almost normal 2013-2014 DH geometry. It has now 63° headangle. Thats almost modern and Imposible to achieve with another old dh frame. Modern Wheelbase (although extremely long), low BB, but the chainstay its too long too. Not the best bike for short riders. I think 1.75mtrs and up..................Recent mesures:...............Weight: 20,25 kilos.........-63° headangle........-chainstay: 461mm.............-wheelbase: 1282mm (yes, thats right)....................-Gonna ride the bike like this the next 2 months, then the upgrades gonna be some ethirtheen 73mm bb cranks, crankbrothers pedals, and maybe try to convert a CCDB shock with and extended eyelet like the original FOX.
