Liking the new Dianese. Pretty impressed with my trail skins, though I just got them, no riding yet. That is the worst jersey ever to show off that pack though, hard to tell exactly what's pack & what's jersey.

And that is my number one reason for not riding Crabapple anymore: fear of a crash like that. Last time I rode Crabapple was maybe 2008. No more of that.

Watching this I caught myself actually leaning back in my chair a bit trying to correct... hate that feeling when you know it's coming and can't stop it.

I understand Dead Sailor to mean one that just hangs on to the bike despite the imminent crash. That is, one that's 'going down with the ship'. Yeah, it's not stylish, either, but the fundamental part is hanging onto the bars, wide-eyed and hopeless.

Hey guys- I was the lead engineer on this shock. If you have any questions- fire away.

Edit- this was in response to earlier posts:
It is not SPV, and SPV did not perform like this.

Yes we tried to make descend mode to behave like a shim damper- that curve feels best for...more

Not exactly- small bump doesn't always mean small velocity. The shock velocity is more dependent on shape of the bump- even a small rock or tree root generates a medium/high shock velocity. The low speed inputs are all rider generated- pedaling, pumping, weight shifts etc. The...more

That 7Point still looks relevant today. Solid ride and build.

So rad. I remember racing Sea Otter DH waaay back and being terrified of just some of the tiny doubles at the top. There were so many spectators up there, I didn't want to wad up and look like a doofus. So I pinned it and cleared em without even knowing it. Phew!

so basically an enduro fanny-pack under a jersey?

So 2 jerseys is not hotter than one jersey and a pack?

Hey man, why the personal attacks? My statement and question were simple: in my experience, don't end up on my back very often in crashes. Is my experience typical or exceptional?

I rode the Mason FS for two days last fall and instantly loved it. The long wheelbase didn't bother me in the least as I am tall and was riding an XL frame. I liked the entire spec save for the saddle, but that's easily remedied. Also, my test bike had a KS dropper which seems to be more dependable than the Kronolog.
The Mason FS popped my 29er cherry - and I came away very, very impressed. I did not know it weighed over 30# but that doesn't really bother me at all. It rode incredibly well on everything from Skookum Flats, Suntop Peak, Chuckanut Ridge, to Mt Galbraith. I was really impressed at how well it took to the air on the (admittedly smallish) hits that I am accustomed to on these trails. I don't go huge but I do ride hard, and the Mason FS was totally unfazed by my shenanigans.

I thought it felt really good on jumps too. Good candidate for raw, open, and faster terrain. Felt pretty good sprinting into descents that I normally coasted into. Thing didn't really care what was in the trail; it just kept going straight without slowing down. Just had to pay...more
