The guy is in animal. I once heard that he assembled his own race bike in the parking lot at the Vail WC in late 2001, weighing out individual components to build the lightest possible bike. As I understand it 9/11 disrupted travel for so many teams including his mechanic that he had to do it all himself. What a boss.

Ya he still rips and good choice having him test out these new wheels. Like the way hubs look, straight pull spokes, rim just need some width to it 30-32mm. Plus remember some of us riders are not millionaires but sram usually decent prices. I sold so far, german design,...more

This only supports how weenie the DH course is. I have no hate for 29ers, I'm just disappointed at the course. Our regular trail rides are far more challenging. Maybe this will inspire course builders to come up with something that is only do-able on a proper DH bike, or else consider changing the name of the event. "XC Descent", perhaps.

Solid review. Have you put in any time on the SLX brakes? I am debating between SLX and Zee for a trail bike.
