Yea right? This is just a 1080 is it not? I mean a 1080 is awesome so I don't want to take away from the trick. Just wondering about the "twister" name.

I'm a dog lover and trail dogs are awesome, but it's imperative in my opinion that people are responsible when taking thier dog out riding. If they are not 100% properly trained they can be a danger to themselves and other riders. I've come across too ... more »

I am not generally very picky about most things. I'm just not that sensitive to the little adjustments or minor changes in setup. But what I am very picky about is the way my bike sounds and unwanted noise. Everything needs to be tight and as quiet as ... more »

Funny how Gee gets so much grief. Winners are focused and often very serious. This guy puts so much work in and sacrifices a great deal out of his daily life to chase tenths a of seconds only to get crappy commentary from Internet aficionados. Kind of a bummer, really....more

Yes, the rider in the video couldn't have been using a system like the one pictured above. For the rear wheel to keep spinning like that while the cranks are stationary, the motor would have to me connected directly to the rear wheel, not mounted to ... more »

I just bought a 'new' bike. It's 2 years old but in great condition. That about as good as it gets for me (and I assume many others) who have a budget.

On obvious thing that stands out is how much the stem length changes along with the height. Basically with this stem low also means ridiculously long.

I agree with Fireant. Yes, part of this blame lies with Red Bull. They're going to be the largest martyr. They're the main sponsor who likely kept this event alive. Another part of the blame has to go to the riders' sponsors. I'm certain they're pushing...more

Seeing something like this happen to a rider is a tragedy.. no one ever wants to see their hero's or friends hurt especially doing something that they love.
I don't think putting all the blame on red bull is right though, but having a media black out...more

Agreed with most written aside from the insurance bit. The Rampage falls under the FMB Tour, in which riders cannot compete without insurance. In no other sport, action or otherwise, is an event's title sponsor responsible for providing insurance to the...more

Until they start building rampage lines and they turn into a bunch of 12 year old girls. Someone should get Aggy some syrup for his bitchcakes.

Is there really much of a downside to this on a slopestyle bike? I know that hydraulic brakes are better than cables but are the brakes really used that much on a slope bike? Is not DH where you need to keep a big 35lb bike under control on some steep steep and gnarly terrain. I would think in slope it mostly just quick speed checks here and there correct? Those avid mechanicals seem like they would handle that just fine.

Yea on those trail, considering the way these guy normally ride, that didn't look fun at all. I get the fat bike thing for riding in alternate conditions like snow or mud or sandy terrain. But not on regular dry trails.
