I´m not a hippie at all. And I don´t have the time to take it all apart every week (roughly once a year is manageable though). So what I do is simply lean it against a tree (very hippie-esque!), use a hose in shower mode and soak it gently. Think of it as speckling. Then spray on some muc-off and let the nanothingies do their work. Maybe I´ll use a brush for the really dirty bits. Shower-mode for the hose again, wash `er down and voila. 30 mins in the sun and it´s good as new!

Sven, I meant the old models. Not the new ones obviously, which I presume will be better. No doubt there. But I do have a few points with the older 5050XX. All in all nice pedals (I still ride ´em!) but not good enough to not try something else for a change.

And I´m not one of those usual internet guys by the way ... see you at the races!

I own a pair of these (XX model) and frankly, they´re not worth the money. I do like the option to change plates though, that´s a neat touch. Axle is holding up well so far - although it could go a little more free-moving for my taste. And somehow I manage to lose or break pins quite easily.
Looks like they´ve kept the interchangeable theme, I hope they got thinner and lighter aswell.
