no matter how much i study these pictures, i cannot for the life of me work out how the suspension link design works! as far as i can see, all that the shock is mounted to is the rear swing arm lol

To the guy who made the first comment:
This is an interesting idea but I don't think it would be quite possible. With the way that publicity is starting to build up around downhill, the UCI needs to carry on to make our sport as spectator and media friendly as possible, and this doesn't really aid in doing so. it would be a nightmare trying to broadcast the race and wouldn't have the same atmosphere with crouds being so much more spread out. Just my oppinion though.

I personally do prefer a light bike (mines 39lb all up) but mainly because of my size. I'm 16 and not exactly a very big guy and when I get onto a heavier bike like my mates ones I find I just can't chuck the thing round as much as I like to when I'm on mine. I do think there is a point where it does start getting too light though. Mainly the reason of that you need to have your suspension dialled in near perfect to suck up every bumb otherwise you bounce off everything rather than have your whells tracking the ground.
