I am having some ankle / nerve / plantar problems and am considering going to flats on my mtb. I ride and race a nomad, and have been riding spd's since the early 90's. Anyway, I'm looking to ride a pedal with good surface area (to spread out the force ... more »

From the last segment, it looked like Steve's bike was slower than Brandon's.

OK....main question: Is a 44t chain ring actually bigger than a 180mm disc?

It will be a bummer not to spot Graves around the Front Range and at Keystone. I hope Yeti can hold onto Richie, at least! As to riders doing both World Cup and EWS series, yeah...no way. The grind of doing EWS alone is too much. I'm sure a few guys ... more »

You are chipping in every time you click a redbull article or link, they will make plenty of profit out of this event to cover these costs but choose not to.
Redbull doesn't need anything more from us than what we already give, whether it's clicking links...more

Would a bigger prize purse actually help ?
Or would people take even greater risks, still get horribly fucked up and come away with nothing but a huge medical bill ?

I hope you all read this because it's something of a "fact". I write insurance, some pretty crazy policies too sometimes, and one thing to understand is that THERE IS NO INSURANCE POLICY FOR THIS TYPE OF EVENT!!! Sure, you race a USAC bike race, you get...more

What about charging $5 for every live feed? Have that money go straight to rider safety and secondarily to better purses. Red bull gets to splash their logo on everything and we pay the riders something for their risk. Honestly, I'd feel better watching...more

I'm only 5'8'', so I'm definitely looking forward to dropping down from my 175mm cranks to 170s or even 165. Also, I'm looking forward to experimenting with a more adjustable suspension next year, probably a Vivid Air instead of the Monarch Debonair. ... more »

I just saw the Vital slideshow on Finale Ligure. Something about Richie and Jared not being on the same team next year. I have no idea what that is about, but it's been fun to see these two riding around some of the local spots thanks to the Yeti sponsorship. ... more »

Yeah, I figure it's mainly talent at this point. I wish we could put Richie on one and see what happens. Ha, ha...but Santa Cruz has already hurt Yeti enough, haven't they?! It might be too cruel to swipe the best Enduro guy in the world right now.

I hope this crazy track gets at least a proper edit and some more go pros. It looks mental. Is this an invite-only kind of thing or is the low-rider count because...it's mental?

Started new thread Anyone riding 27.5+ at Rampage? 8/16/2015 7:02 PM
I just watched some of the Scott Genius 27.5+ test here on vital. Aside from it being a Scott Genius test, it was an interesting piece. Given the larger "contact patch" of 27.5+, I'm wondering if anyone at Rampage is ramping-up to the bigger tires? Gaining ... more »

Full disclosure: I rode in Crested Butte last weekend. That brought my total days riding in Crested Butte to 5, in my life. I have no idea if any of what I rode is in the race. The two days I've spent at the bike park are a safe bet, but I'd be willing ... more »
