Awesome. Lawyer up! I can think of a handful of legal problems with UCI's rule, including anti-trust issues. I don't know about "inalienable rights" though - everyone has the right to tell UCI to get bent. But, there may be other common law claims, like tortious interference with economic prospects, invalid non-compete agreements - all kinds of interesting stuff.

Does anyone know what Elliott's deal is? Do we know yet why he's not racing next year?

There was no contract and that may have been part of the problem. There was only a letter of intent, which is not binding. An LOI is a nonbinding gentlemans' agreement setting forth basic contract terms and confiming seriousness in entering into a binding contract. They are often used to confirm real interest in a deal before undertaking an often lengthy and expensive due diligence period. Bottom line is that a LOI is typically unenforceable against either party. If Whitley sues, he'll very likely lose. Besides, his only possible remedy is damages - you can't force someone to work for you in the US, nor can you prevent them from earning a living at their trade - both unenforceable. Whitley better start listening to his lawyers or he is going to make a fool of himself.

Mad props to Gee - a true wolvarine - but I think Neko Mullaly's race run crash at MSA was more brutal than Gee's at MSA (though Gee's Rampage crash takes the cake if you ask me). Neko got kocked the fock out - no suspension soaking up at least some of the impact. It was sickening to watch:

Such a cool event...it's nice to see Gee in a relaxed frame of mind. I think he gets too much guff for being super focused at races, which I think some people misinterpret...

That was my guess - except you'd think that Brook would have a bulldog reference, not "beast" - regardless, I can definitely see "Black Beauty" being the new black carbon Trek

Maybe...but if I were Gwin, or his sponsor Shimano, I sure wouldn't want to bash the product due to an "inexplicable", high publicity failure if that's not what actually happened. That doesn't look good for the sponsor at all, and Gwin hasn't been shy about saying he just 'blew it' in the past. Just sayin

Props to Brendon, but Andreu definitely would have taken it if he didn't wash.

Watching the front end wash like that reminded me of Neko's crash at MSA...
Maybe those prototype Bontrager tyres could use alittle more knob onthe shoulders...
Either way Gwin is a beast, getting up and finishing when he's a protected rider.
Good Luck on Sunday Aaron.

Wow. When I go down hard, I need like 2-5 minutes to pull myself back together and collect my thoughts after getting my bell rung. Gwin's for real. Is the hand ok? Is he racing????? Deets....

Awesome vid. I ran into Brook at Windham and he had such a chill vibe and was so nice - I hope to see him on the podium soon - along with Damien.
