Sho-Air/Cannondale XC team firing a shot at USAC, they're sending there whole team to the Whiskey 50 and putting out a press release calling out USAC.

They don't even really have leverage over that world either. The Teams are pissed, the riders are pissed....I think it's coming to a head even on that end of things. Very few riders have a shot at a national team or the Olympics, they just want to make a living and ride their bikes like most of us.
Actually, UCI is using the rule to mess with the roadies and XC guys, so it's not just gravity they're after. The XC guys are probably more pissed at this moment...events like Leadville and the Whiskey 50 are unsanctioned.

No it's not a simple solution, there is a reason these races don't have USAC sanctioning. For them there is no reason too, USAC does not give them any benefit, it's a business decision. It's not by chance most of the new big events, that are bigger than most of the USAC events don't deal with them.
Also, this is nothing but weakly camouflaged extortion.
Interesting enough, unless something has radically changed in the past couples weeks USAC is the ONLY major cycling fed enforcing the rule.
Think it's time for someone to make those shirts again.....
