Added a comment about product review 2014 Test Sessions: Commencal Meta Hip Hop 1 7/29/2014 12:47 PM

Makes sense now, I didn't realize they lumped it in the Enduro category. Since they offer the Meta SX and AM, I assumed they would have separated the hip hop from their enduro roster.

As the reviewer stated: "it excels on fast, flowy, smooth trails - much like those you'd expect a slalom bike to excel on." I would have assumed a bike like this would be tested on such trails.

I would love to read a review on flow jump trails, slope style, bike park, 4x tracks..... Commencal has other meta models much better suited to trail riding. It's great to know the hip hop can be an ok trail bike when needed, but let's hear about how it does in the environments where it would separate itself from the crowd. This is a niche bike, not a trail bike.

First bike brand, who builds a horst link after the end of Specializeds patent in North America?

That's no single pivot bike. It's a Horst-Link one. The front triangle looks almost like Rocky Mountain's slopestyle bike though.

All that said, I like it. Transition has always been guided by the KISS...more

I'm with you on this one prestondh. I would definitely wait for a long term review of how this "new technology" holds up before I dropped 9k on one of these bikes. Maybe it's the shit.... but...more

im still under the impression that this is over complicated and partially a marketing gimmick. i mean do they really need fox kashima coated switch rails...

160 is the sweet, spot companies just do this to differentiate themselves and in the end limit consumer options imo, which ultimately means sales. SC do this well, SC also do Keep it Simple...more

Pefect: So if I were to pony up for one of these magical dream steeds, given my current riding habits, I would only need to service that little flux capacitor EVERY MONTH.

Graves strongly considered the SB5C for this weekend's race, and may still use it at select events.

These are heavier than the impact clipless? While these sound like fine shoes, I'm not sure why anyone would opt for them over the impacts. The reviewers request for lighter and stiffer exists in the new impact.

If I'm not mistaken, a V10 carbon frame weight is 7.2 lbs with a coil shock, so it's lighter. It also has rearward travel built into its rear suspension, so that's not a new idea, just borrowed from Santa Cruz. Finally,...more

Very cool bike, except for the rubber bumper to protect the rear end from contacting the seat tube. That contact should be impossible on a properly designed frame when using the correct size shock for the bike. Claiming it...more
