If the bike is Simply Amazing how come it only gets only 4 stars? Surely not because of standover height.

Of course, it's the XC/CX crowd, so no one even bats an eyelid...they all just keep rolling along. Spandex wankers.

Snfoilhat, I believe the reason they chose a material with a low coefficient of friction is because in order for this system to work it has to move. Think about it, when you head hits the ground hard, it hits with a huge amount of force. Just standing on your head you have 180 lbs. (or what ever your weight is) of force on your head. So in a bad crash this is probably 1800 lbs. of force or more. So breaking the force of your head down into vertical and horizontal components. the friction force(coefficient of friction times the vertical component) has to be less than the horizontal component for it to move.
My question is if this thing just moves around as you ride how do you know it will be in the right place when you crash?
In a whiplash type crash I would think your so called travel of the mips contraption will already be tapped out.
Just guessing by the way.
