For what it's worth, the new Capra features a VERY progressive linkage curve. So much so that I doubt all 170mm will be used except on the biggest of hits in combination with the air shock. Have you considered the new Trek Slash 27.5? The geo fits well ... more »

Looking good! Let us know how it rides.

If it's too soft (by which I assume you mean you're using the travel too quickly/easily), try pumping the fork up if it's air sprung or getting a firmer spring if it's coil sprung.

Hey Sam, It sounds like you're browsing on a PC, correct? If so, installing/updating your Flash player should fix the issue. You can do that here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash Let us know if that works.

You don't need to replace the chain, cassette, or chainrings if you can find a short cage derailleur with the same number of shifts as you currently have rear gears (likely 9 or 10-speed). It's easy to swap out. Given that you only use the smaller front ... more »

Many bikes have weak derailleur hangers, so I wouldn't isolate the issue to your bike being an XC bike. Are you bending it by hitting it on rocks on accident? or do you find it bent after a rough downhill section? If you're hitting it on rocks, a short ... more »

Avid brakes often act a little funny after being stored upside down. Try pumping the lever several times. You may need a bleed as well.

In my experience the clutches can be quite strong at first. Try harder?

There's supposed to be some considerable resistance. That's what prevents chain slap. Will it not move forward at all? Even when you press hard?
