Would it really provide noticeable advantages to a standard fork though, especially with this added complexity?

The real wagon wheel has arrived...

I would like to see how that front axle path compares to a standard fork. It looks like it would reduce the wheel base more drastically during compression. And look at all of those pivot(read: flex) points they've added to the front end...
Any one else think it was kind of funny seeing marzocchi forks on t-mac's gt in a fox promo?

Everything he does just looks so fun and creative! Amazing.

There's a huge difference between racing world cups and free-riding. Any of the guys who ride in rampage would tear this up with much less hesitation. He's used to groomed world cup downhill courses, and that's what he does best. And yeah I'm also bagging on his intelligence because of his word choices and lack of originality as seen in this interview: http://www.pinkbike.com/video/308860/
Unbelievable... he defies everything I thought I knew.

Red bull should have brought along some free-riders to show him how it's done. He looked scared, and did he just use the word "tummy?" Oh Brook, it's tough coming up with your own words when Neko isn't around, isn't it?
Seems pretty gimmicky, especially putting "freely rotating" parts on something to make it more rigid, and putting those parts right in the dirt.

I wonder if it was by choice or he just didn't have a chance to chop the steerer tube? Or maybe the forks belonged on a different bike?

Sad to say it but I think I may trade my Maltese falcons for these! I'm interested to see how they compare to the new Maltese model though.

That bike is super sexy... I can't help but laugh every time I watch the video though. Its the epitome of bike porn.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately my browser didn't offer to translate it like it normally does. The graphs are still interesting though. It's gotten me motivated to start drafting some of my favorite bike's geometries into Solidworks for some data of my own!

I really appreciated the graphical data of leverage curves and axle paths! Was that produced by Yeti? I would really like to see more comparisons like that with other bikes and would be interested to see its correlation to ride characteristics.
Totally rad to see folks from Yeti directly addressing any concerns on this review. You guys rock, I'm currently saving pennies to (re)join the tribe!
Definitely inspired... that jump into the low hanging log at the end looks like it could be a serious headache if you mess up!

Way to go Rock Shox! For those who believe this is bad marketing, take a second to think: Did they make this product memorable? Did it evoke an emotion? Based on the overwhelmingly heated responses to this post I would say, yes. Whether people caught the joke and laughed, or missed it and became outraged, they made a memorable impression on all of us and got people talking about their product. Absolute success by marketing standards!
