OneUp just released a 45t cog for Shimano cassettes. For the most part, I think, 'Why not?' If somebody wants to spend the cash to install a chainring-sized cog, and that helps them have fun on a bike, who am I to judge? On the other hand... Does anybody ... more »

As much fun as that is to imagine, I think he's just using SRAM Matchmaker.

Pinkbike scoped out the custom link that Gwin/Brosnan have been running: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/aaron-gwins-troy-brosnan-specialized-demo-prototype.html Basically, the WC pros wanted slightly more progression in the suspension, so Big S CNC'd up some custom links.

Looks a lot more like the Sunn DH frame of a couple years ago, to me.

Looks like whatever Brosnan's got going on back there, Gwin's got it too. I thought I was imagining it when I first looked at this shot but now I'm more convinced. https://instagram.com/p/0LHTxMFSpm/

So, what happens now? I have to assume that at least one or two people at the UCI are intelligent enough to realize that preventing the Syndicate from registering would be a bad decision. Is there some sort of appeal process?

Neko/Scott publicly confirmed. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/gstaad-scott-welcomes-neko-mulally-2015.html EDIT: The video somebody mentioned is public now too.
Reply to Do you think a World Cup DH career debut like Gwin's is possible anymore? 12/30/2014 11:19 AM
I want to say yes, but my perception was that the top of the game changed after Gwin made everybody look silly for a season. Seems like the serious factor got turned up another notch (in terms of training, diet, etc). It's not impossible that somebody ... more »
Reply to Why are flat tires something we still see these days? 5/14/2014 4:01 PM
As far as I see it, it's pretty easy to set up your bike so that you won't get any flats. Throw in some nice, thick tire liners, a pair of heavy-duty tubes--maybe even some sealant in the tubes--and pump those suckers up nice and firm. Flat-free! But, ... more »

Gwin confirmed SRAM drivetrain but Fox suspension today. A rare combination. Apart from Lapierre I can't think of any other teams running that set-up.

Gwin states in the video he's signing a letter of intent, not a contract. I've gotta say that Martin Whiteley is just making himself look desperate by putting this all out in public and trying to shame Gwin. Somebody ought to take away Whiteley's laptop ... more »

Evidence that something related to Specialized is about to drop is here. Nothing concrete though. My money's on Greg, I have a hard time imagining Gwin breaking his contract with Trek so soon after resigning.

Does anybody know what Matti Lehikoinen or Duncan Riffle are doing next season? Matti's not on CRC, and according to today's press release Duncan isn't on Dirt-Norco anymore. I'm curious to know whether they'll be racing.

I didn't get this one at first but now I think I might. That's a holly leaf on a rainbow, so it must be Holly Feniak, who won the Junior World Champs this year. I guess the pot of gold represents a bigger contract? Not sure what the leaf is riding though... ... more »

If he went to Sram I assume he'd have to do the whole package. They usually try to get their athletes to do that. Not a lot of teams running Sram and Fox out there. In other news, Hill to CRC/Nukeproof is now public. Didn't believe it until now.
