i remember when i was hoping to buy a trek 8000. didn't have enough money at the time, but looking at it now makes me nostalgic for high-posting steep singletrack on my aluminum 26" hardtail... good times.

after three years with a dropper post, i sometimes wonder what would happen if i tried to go back.

By the time you get these lard-ass cassettes bolted up and then you realize that your barely-worn single ring WILL need a chainguide in order to pound rock gardens with any haste without tossing a chain you will have saved no grams over a...more

OneUp just released a 45t cog for Shimano cassettes. For the most part, I think, 'Why not?' If somebody wants to spend the cash to install a chainring-sized cog, and that helps them have fun on a bike, who am I to judge? On the other hand... Does anybody ... more »

looks slick, but seems like you'd be guaranteed mud/dirt all over the threads of that CO2 cartridge. i also wonder whether there's any flexibility in this system for some of the things i used to put in my saddlebag, especially small bits like patches and a spare chain link.
