Maybe they'll invest more in MTB if closing Moto.

Hmmm, Maybe, the balance of compromises aren't as in favor on an AM bike as they are a DH bike. I too think it'd be awesome, but not sure it'd be made. I'm guessing they used an AM frame for testing so they could focus more on the pedaling characteristics and to arouse less suspicion. With Enduro so popular though. A high pivot would make a lot of sense.

This is probably the highest rated suspension design. Natural anti-bob that also improves suspension sensitivity and bump absorption. You don't need platform shocks or weird linkage rate curves that all negatively affect performance in one way to gain in another. This just works without compromise.
Also, I'd...more

I hope, considering they made that prototype. That's what's always bugged me. Sweet BMWs, Zerode, Canfield Jedi, Bulls, etc. that have HPP downhill bikes that I'd love, but I don't ride downhill and none of them make a ~160mm enduro bike with the same awesome design.

YoYo's got it. The rearward axle path helps to eliminate pedal bob while improving suspension sensitivity and bump absorption. Offering multiple floating brake lever mount locations could easily tune in brake squat or brake lift to counteract any chainstay lengthening in hard turns.

After summer, something like that.

When can I get one?

The Brake induced squat can be a great feature. You can match the rear squat to the forks dive for more consistent geometry. Also helps make the rear feel more accurate and you can feel and control rear traction easier. I dig it. and I've ridden HPPs with and without floaters. I doubt many will opt to run a floater. Floater is good for some situations and riders, but no floater is better overall IMO.

This will be a great way to be able to tune the braking caracteristics as they are usually easily adjustable

Yes, that's exactly what it is.

Probably just something along the line of a 1.5" headtube.

Yes, Works Components sells reach adjust headsets for any 1.5 headtube DH bike.

The Head tube inserts for sizing is clever. Results in a big HT, but I guess that doesn't really matter.

High pivots eliminate "BOB" added with a dash of inbuilt anti squat and they pedal great, better than most other bikes. Not sure how poorly set up the Zerode you rode was, but they pedal brilliantly. Cornering is also a non issue once you've adapted to the bike and using the brakes subtly and with purpose. Everything is a compromise, this Commencal and Zerodes will prove for most to be the fastest balance of compromise overall. I'd bet on it.

That rearward axle path is for real! Typically, published graphs make the rearward axle path look significant, when it is really only 5mm. This rearward axle path is 40+mm! I wonder how that feels on trail.
