Paolo i'm about 5'6" and have ridden every manuf under the sun. Specialized tends to run a bit long relative to other bike manufacturers like Santa Cruz. I rode an SX trail for a long time in small size and it still seemed really long to me. even their geometry specs the effective top tube for size small at 22 inches for most of their frames. i ran a 38mm stem and it still seemed long. trust me, get the small.

Despite Specialized`s bad reputation in Brazil due to warranty issues and poor service, this bike deserves a "like" for the upgrades over the OEM generic parts that comes with, specially the Bos fork, Enve wheels and KS Lev post.
    Congrats!
