Great advice. Also, I'd tell myself to feed some starving children, read moar books, and most importantly, only date people of an equal or greater social standing to myself.
Brook and Blenki are dead to me. They swapped from flats to clips, and they aren't as fun to watch. Their best results were on flats as well. Bah.
It is mostly the people in my opinion as well, vote with your dollars, and stuff will reflect that. This morning, I looked at Instagram some (just want to see the newest thing), drove to do a workout (giving some $$$ to the oil companies), bought some ... more »
Seems to me that Jeff Brines has positioned himself as the fairy godmother of enduro. All inquiries concerning fairness, spirit, purpose or etiquette should be placed on his desk for review.
That's the first good idea you've had in a long time Jeff. Tucker would be proud.
To Eric Saunders... Isn't the promoter of this the promoter of many other enduro races? The Big Mountain Enduro Series? Isn't this promoter the one that has a cap on entrants? It isn't like they are expecting 200 and got 899 racers. They are capped field ... more »
Looks like almost everyone is going to ride Doctor Park (not Doctor's), which is an incredible ride in and of itself. I guess we'll just see how good of a guess that is of a EWS stage trail. I'd certainly bet on it after riding it a few times and being ... more »
I think it has to be a rider 'agreement' so to speak, an honor system that is followed. As it stands now, this is certainly not the case, because people are there riding, more than a week ahead of time, and not trying to hide it. Enduro teams are paying ... more »
I've sometimes had a derailleur rattle a bit, which depends on the derailleur hanger a little, angle, some little things like that. I have put a thin pedal washer between the hanger and that piece you are talking about, and it prevents any movement and ... more »
Kidwoo, you have more of a chance of getting me on one of those snow kits than you do a snowmobile. Looks rad. You make a line to the top for me with your sled.
You should go to The Backcountry, it is in Truckee, and they have Scott Gamblers and I believe Intense rental bikes for Northstar. One of the only shops I've seen with really good rental stuff. Just don't hit your head on a kayak walking in the door. ... more »
Tubular makes perfect sense for DH. No thorn flats to really worry about, which is a downfall of tubular tires, no tubeless goop, which is a downfall of regular tubeless. No burping, which is why I won't run tubeless. Same pressure, same casing, just ... more »
I had an SDG Big Boy saddle, it was on my Mountain Cycle San Andreas frame, with White Brothers DC110 fork. 24 inch wheels with 2.7 Intense tires, Hope brakes that you had to adjust by hand. Those titanium bars with a shim in the clamp area, fat squishy ... more »
If anyone sees him, ask Curtis Keene, he knows ALL the food stops.
There is a lot of maintenance going on, but that is not the only goal. In the past, SOC has put up some $$$ to get the course ready to ride every year. With this project, the SOC should require less maintenance in later years, so if there is a budget ... more »
I've been on the Vivid Air since July and I'm a big fan. I've written about my setup on it, that might go up here in a bit...
I'm in Santa Monica. Going to Simi Valley today. Where are you? Lets ride.
Too bad you think it is a copy because it is upside down. That 'boxxers' had a different axle, legs, sliders and crown, damping, but you know, it is a copy.
Where would those be found? I'd be down for some maintenance/construction.
I'm of the opinion that it just has to be a fun race. If it is short, fine. If it is longer, great. It just needs to be fun for everyone attending. It DOES NOT have to resemble Champery. I don't know if anything in the US does other than the backside ... more »
