I've been toying with the idea of a short travel FS bike for awhile now. I was after a bike that could destroy Fruita's flowy 18rd trails and be a comfortable early season training bike.

The Stage fork up front is all business. The 34mm stanchions and QtapeR15 axle make it a point and shoot affair. I have it spaced down to 110mm of travel.

Definitely went a little enduro-ish with the build, but it's still svelte. Enve M60 rims laced to DT 240 hubs are a light and bombproof combo.

800mm wide Enve DH bars keep me in control when I push the bike a little too far! Reverb remote done right - right lever, left side. I build my brakes from parts, I prefer the Zee levers for textured blades and subdued styling. Basic Deore calipers have plenty of power for our desert trails.

I run my suspension pretty firm - air pressure isn't overly high, but I like to keep compression dialed half way into the range and the Ramp Control set aggressively for major ramp-up towards the end of the stroke.

Got this RP23 off Kyle Warner, I think he won the Snowmass BME on it - so it has good juju! Push has since given it the Factory treatment and matched it to my riding style.

Years of riding DT hubs and not a single issue, plus their North American operations are across the street from my office in Grand Junction, CO.

I'm pretty anal about cable routing and non-stealth dropper posts are often obnoxious in this regard. I've got a pretty good system here with the double hose guides. I thought about drilling the frame to go stealth, but it's lightweight alloy and I'm already pushing this bike to it's limits - that sounded like a recipe for disaster to me. 100mm drop only, I prefer this on all my bikes.

The Syntance Megaforce 2 ticks all the boxes: light, stiff, and pretty. Ti hardware comes stock.

My ass refuses to sit for long on anything other than an Ergon saddle! This ones seen some miles, it'll be upgraded by the newer SME3 Pro soon.

you could just get a LEV and then you dont need to worry about cable movement at all

Correct, but the all black Lev Ti was considerably more expensive. The cheaper Lev DX still has a natural gold telescoping portion - looks dated. I was trying to avoid having black, Kashima, and natural gold on the uppy-downy parts.

It's a medium. The saddle sizing changed in 2013, before that small and large were your options. The former "large" became the medium and they now offer an even wider "large".
