if that's what we're calling 27.5s!

Same bike as the one that took him to second place at Leogang!

A) they (Fox) are not trying to sell us anything, these are speculative "spy" shots. B ) Fox has been making 36mm 180mm travel coil and air forks for some time, they are a match for this bike. (esp. TALAS) C) the Nomad is now 165mm rear travel, it may evolve into a Mini-DH sled, especially with a long travel SC fork. There is an in between Park bike (read Whistler Assualt weapon) need that this fork, if a real product to be offered, may fulfill. Not sure of your angst, but its mis directed. The Pike is an excellent fork no doubt, the DVO s beautiful but unproven as stated. Unfortunately, most people will never learn to tune their suspension, they need out of the box performance.

Meh, cosmetic tid bits. A shock that does not match the usage, and alum swing arm? Must steer like a bus with that extra slackness. How is this bike of the day?

Right... maybe it would help if she was a bit more agressive ON the bike and a bit more laid back OF the bike. Feels sorry for the girls man.

Hi Morpheous, I know it's not super clear, but "2. "no effect on the bikes performance"?" is when you take the Mac Ride OFF and your using your bike as normal. The only remaining bracket on your bike is an...more

I've done over 1000 miles using a similar homemade method. If kept to roads and smoother hard pack it is completely safe, unless you are a really inexperienced or poor rider. Obviously you'd be insane to try...more

Coprod, As I suggested in my original reply: "Get the kid a dirt strider and let them rip!" My kids rode on the dirt trail starting with 16" wheels. My point is let the child experience controlling the bike themselves. They did just fine given appropriate terrain choice for their skill level. The issue with this for XC trail riding is that many riders wont be able to compensate for the front end pressure, wont re-spring their bikes accordingly, and will stuff the front wheel and endo. I work in a bike shop, I know the consumer, most people manage to endo on their own let alone with a toddler on board. I am a fan of this configuration for normal street paved trail use (I used one back int he 90s), its better for sure...but for most people you would still need to disconnect the front brake to be safe. Only a very experienced expert rider can manage this safely in my opinion....

Mothers everywhere are suddenly staying home on Saturdays....;-) Im all for giving the little tykes the trail experience, but this is'nt the optimal way to do it. 1. its a good thing they have "baby" teeth 2. "no effect on the bikes performance"? - you are actually adding weight so you will have to 'spring-up' in the forks, 3. obstacles that require front wheel lift will now take some effort, and going over the bars if miscalculated is not a good scenario with a little one in front of you. Get the kid a dirt strider and let them rip! *On the positive side, for paved trail / street use these are much better than the classic 'kid-a-pault' rear seat. I used one of these front mount seats when my kids were small back int he 90s on the sidewalk/biketrail bike. Better balance and less effect on he bike handling, but no suspension fork on that bike.
