Concur, awesome pad, even when I dont need them I use them, Ive teste them in a few stacks in DH, did not move on me on impact and didnt feel a thing, by far best impact and comfort pad Ive ever used, magain ridden or tried most out theyre, also breath as well as anything comparable, still puch em down on long Enduro climbs, but not a nessicity like with all lther pads Ive used. Ill be adding some Tactics and Coverts as soon as btw.

Added a comment about product review 2015 Test Sessions: Mondraker Foxy Carbon RR 2/12/2015 8:20 PM

on stems, Ive been training in the 30mm lately and gotten used to it, but I had to adjust my fork SR to suit, a little bit stiffer psi, probably round about 10psi, I went back for a trial run on the 10mm no dkff uphill, but was out of control back down hill, I did not change my fork pressure, so shorter stem less, SR just a warning, your weight is less over the fork so for grip and control a little less spring rate will cure this, this is how sensitive to setup it is, know your bike is my advice, not the forums!

In fairness, I do think Mondraker takes this a little too far, and one thing the "Forward Geometry" concept doesn't take into account (at all) is that some people's local trails have much smaller radius corners than in the Alps for example, so while the concept sounds good to them, you end up with a bike that won't rail tighter corners particularly well. Extending the front center and shortening the stem corrects the reach and creates a bike that works well in some scenarios, but it also extends the wheelbase by ludicrous amounts.

If you extrapolate from this, you can

I disagree with this, they havent taken it too far, people are just not ready, if you want to be married to your sister and or mother then all bikes should be the same, weird, but thats the bike industry, people wnt the dame thing all the time het ask for new stuff that pushes the envelope then in reality, they still eant theyre mother, nkt the hot sexy chick thats out of theyre league, because they cant handle her.

saying that these bikes ride differentky and imo arent hard to adjust to, with an open mind and without comparing and expecting the same old results, Ive put average riders on these bikes and on tight narly trails only to be blown away by how much better they ride compared to theyre current rigs for example, now that being said both were mediums and while the wheel bases were much longer than what they are used to, its no where are extreme as an XL, even for a gievn size of rider that requires some commitment and skill level at that length, again saying that my Summun is longer and yet have no issues on any DH track tight or fast, Ive fohnd the exact opposite to be true that the bikes corner very well, again comparing a Dune in large not an XL Foxy, so I must be missing something or Im doing some different, I will say zi set my bike up with an opent mind snd not based on anything my previous bike setup demanded! if you want short then this is not the ike for you, bjt its not the bikes fault if you cant scream corners on this thing, the onky other thing I can suggest is I run full Rockshox, not Fox so whether the fox tunes on that form and shock are affecting consistency Im not sure, but suspension plays a big part and imo Fox often does mot get this right, I hated the 34 on my Dune and Float X! Pike/Monarch plus, would like to try a new 36 though, Ive even riddenbase Pike and Monarch RC and its way better performing than top specc Fox on these bikes, agin my experience, not anti Fox, run 40s/RC4 and as said interested in new 36 manily as I am a 20mm fan, no one will convince me 15mm is better, Ive tried and tried and miss 20mm to bitz, biggest sham in the last few years, only thing its helped is XC weanies get a real axle std!

also wonder what a built up specc would do, eg some carbon hopes, XTs, etc

I ride a large Dune with both the 30 mm stem and my preffered 10mm stem with a high stack, I dont have any of the issues u talk about, even in tight it slays corners, so I, not sure what you guys are doing, mine carves up stuff other bikes in same size at 3" WB shorter with 50mm stems struggled in, and as for jumping I never get kicked, I thought my Ibis HD was a great jumper this thing I can tackle jumps like my DH bike, Id assume you are running way to fast a rebound for the Zero Loss suspension system also am not a fan of Fox air shocks, the RS Monarch or XF shocks are way better on this platform ime, I have ridden them back to back, the Mondraker specc of brakes and shocks is a weakness, buy frame only imo, build it properly. Set it up right, not like other bikes and then it will come alive.

Agree to so,e point, but Im not surprised with the suspenion again the bike takes the hit for this and maybe as bturman says that specc is fine for your average joe punter, but is average joe punter buying these bikes or should they be.
Having 4 alloy 3 carbon I question manafacuters speccs, this shouck and fork is not up to the frame level and should only be slecced on lower end for the punter rider, if you train monkeys you get monkeys. Higher price should reflect higher performance, if riders cant handle that they buy lower price to suit theyre performance simple, I feel for the frame and this is where testing becomes confusing and very subjective.
This needs to be clearer in my opinion.
A: either test pure performance and rate it as such so consumers are aware if ride is harsh or challenign its because its the performance end of the model range, if linear soft blows through travel for a pro rider then its at the lower end of the range for that type of rider. This then clearly defines what a pitential buyer wants, not the soze of his or hers wallet then still ends up disappointed, I would love to know what this bike is capable of with a Monarch Debonair, Pike Solo or new 36rc2 for example.
I feel this test even though rating is good makes the bike seem like it needs allot of work or replacement suspenion to get kt to pefrom to what we expect from Enduro bikes post 2014.
