MTB R&D's Product Reviews
Average...
Rating:
The Good: Colors, price
The Bad: BIG, not low profile, HEAVY
Overall: I have owned the sealed and ball bearing alloys. I used them mostly with skate shoes. The ball bearing models would break about every other month but they were on street bikes so that is to be expected. Sealed lasted much longer. The big body can take a beating but is bulky and the dual concave design lends itself to soft skate shoes. When they are on a park bike with the softer sole shoe my feet took a beating. My 5.10's didn't bend to the shape as well as my other shoes. Grip is good and price is good. There are similarly priced, more modern pedals out there that would probably be a better choice.

Meh.......
Rating:
The Good: Crank Bros. always stand behind their product and have always had excellent service.
The Bad: Thick, overpriced, grip is lacking, gimmicky plates, and weight.
Overall: 5.10's can make a crappy pedal better but the question is should they? No, just buy a lower profile pedal with better grip from the get go. They could lose a bit of weight if they didn't stick to their guns about the gimmicky plates.
I have run Deity, Atomlab, DMR, Kona, Shimano, VP, Spank, Eastern, Odsy, Truvativ, and more. I would run anything else before these.

Works perfect
Rating:
The Good: Support, easy to set-up, USA aluminum machining baby! Bash is burley. Colors! RELIABILITY
The Bad: It is louder than my Straitline but whatever.
Overall: I have used Gamut, E.13, Truvativ, Straitline, Black Spire, and others. My MRP's have never failed me. As a tech I have found that most issues came for improper set-up. Stop by the iXS Morewood tent for MRP support at any event that we are at.
I have run this guide on single pivots, four bars, VPP's, hartails, etc. They have worked right in every situation. Going to try the 2x guide this next year on the Sukuma.

Thomson Killer
Rating:
The Good: -Light
-Stiff
-Detail
-Different
The Bad: Like a Thomson or a Spank Oozy Ltd., it's spendy but so is anything in this range.
Overall: I threw this stem on a Knolly Endorphine. at first I was a little scarred about how close the bolts are drilled and how small they were. Rode it, all fears gone! The details are sick and must be seen up close to appreciate this stem.

One of my favorites
Rating:
The Good: Great grip and cornering, tough sidewall, chicks dig 'em.
The Bad: Can be a bit of a square profile depending on your rim selection. Run small.
Overall: I have used these as rears or fronts, for freeride and DH, desert and in the mountains. The ramps help scrub speed. I am a big guy at 230#'s and I am tough on sidewalls. These walls have never failed me. I would love the tire to be updated with the Maxxis Ardent/Advatage size (True size) and shape (Round).

Good stuff!
Rating:
The Good: Great grip, fairly low profile, parts are available from any Bell/Gyro/Blackburn dealer, O-ring keeps the pedal from spinning, chicks dig them.
The Bad: No color options, pins can break off.
Overall: I ran the suckas for years...before a nut on the spindle finally cracked. I replaced the bearing a few times. They went from my main bike to my loaner. The are a little high profile in the pedal world now but still relevant. They have been around for so long a lower price would be a welcome feature. I was always able to get parts quick, any Bell helmets dealer can get you the goods.
