General Info
Built for general trail riding for a light weight rider, the Tune Twenty4 wheels with only 24 spokes suited this bike and purpose perfectly.
160mm up front and back and Fox Kashima suspension harmonise very well. The fork has had the two QR levers removed and replaced with 2x Syntace M6x20 ti bolts saving 50g. Kind Shock dropper is our choice of dropper and works flawlessly. Nokon cable with blue highlights has been added for that extra touch of coolour and compressionless cable performance. The Seatpost is held in place with the Syntace Superlock seatpost clamp which is both locked onto the frame and has a beautiful seal to keep out the dirt. clamping slit faces the front - very sensible! A Syntace Post shim is longer than your averange shim and provides the length required for fitting a dropper post. The rubber is 2.4" large volume Schwalbe Fat Albert perfect for the 24h Stans Flow rims set up tubeless. For precise and smooth shifting, the drivetrain is a modified 3x10 XTR with Shadow Plus technology paired with a SRAM XG1090 cassette for lowest system weight. The front is converted to 2x with a 36t middle ring in place of the regular 32t for general riding. The small ring is a 24t for the steep climbs. The Syntace Grinder bash ring stops the chain from jumping off on the outside, whereas the E-Type XTR derailleur prevents the chain from falling off on the inside. The Syntace SCS chainguide is robust and keeps the chain where it belongs as well as chain chatter to a minimum. The Syntace Rockguard protects the rear derailleur well as well as providing a stiff hanger for precission shifting. The Tune Wasserträger bottle cage holds the water bottle securely so no bladder is needed on your average length mid week ride. The front hub is a 149g Tune King MK which can run either 20mm or 15mm axles with a converter. The Rear is a 208g Tune Kong X-12. The Syntace Moto Grips in Dog Shit Brown have been selected to suit the Kashima colour of the Fox suspension, but also lie in the hand nicely with the outer 'knob' always letting you know where the end of the bar is. The Syntace Megaforce2 stem only weighs 130g in 70mm, has a wide and low profile for low weight and high stiffness for wide bars. The headcap sits inside the stem which is a very nice touch. Syntace Vector Hi10 bars have some rise without that 'rider bar' look, are tested by the world famous VR-3 Red Monster and provide a 10 year warranty. The 12deg sweep has a great wide range of adjustability to suit all tastes. Brakes are Formula's All Mountain/Enduro brake The One customised with some additional blue highlights in the alloy clamping bolts, the caliper caps, the FCS and RA adjustment instead of the standard gold anodising. At 12.25Kg this bike has about everything you could ask for in a 160mm 26" bike! 160mm travel, suitably wide 740mm bars, dropper, large tyres, large drivetrain range, good chain control and a water bottle holder.
