I'm 178cm, and size is good, maybe little to long for me. Depends what You like.

What I'm 176cm , do you think the M will be ok or should I go to M/L with a short stem 35 or 50mm

i depends, My MDE CArve 6 is shorter than Uprising and i prefer Carve size - shorter bie, but on M/L Uprising rides by friend too, 179cm and he likes this long in Uprising.
If You are lookingfor short travel bikepark bike - take M, but If it has to be enduro bike for longest trips and uphils, take M/L

Evil's new DH and AM frames look soo sweet. Unfortunately looks can be deceiving. My friend destroyed 2 Evil DH carbon frames this season, more dead than undead. They just don"t last thru aggressive riding . specially here in east coast conditions, real rock. Besides that they look great and probably good on smoother race tracks. Don't forget the pros get a new frame every race so that is also deceiving as to the quality and abuse the undead can take. This AM frame might last longer because less intended for DH riding.

Very strange, I didn't hear about crashed Undead. What happened ?

Plattekill Mountain happened and Evil Undead was rendered Dead -D.O.A after weeks not months. This rider is from a prestigious background of racing, not average joe Dh weekend warrior. Now riding a new aluminum frame and loving it. He won't be here talking about it because gets the frames practically free. I haven't been paid to hush up so now you know without name dropping or too many details. Some trails carbon makes alot of sense but Plattekill is not one of them.

I'm curious to see that broken frame and were it broke...the only issue that I could ear from Undead issue was about paint cracking, developed between the aluminum insert and the carbon on rear triangle. Issue that has been resolved by Evil at the factory and replacement of the rear triangle if you had this issue.

My friend get National Championship on Undead, and I know it was one frame.
I'm curious why anywhere noone shows pictures of broken undead :D

Like I said this individual is a sponsored pro level rider. They are not at liberty to discuss these type of issues less show pics online. Another frame fail at Plattekill, we've seen hundreds go down carbon and alum. Doesn"t make any difference to me just giving a trail report you might not have heard about or witnessed. Race tracks are soo smooth these days compared to the rawness of the Catskills.

You will see broken frames on every single trade pro bike...
carbon or aluminium frame with no exception...the unbreakable bike is still to come.
You can find picture of most great DH bikes like Demo8, SC V10, 951 FRO or M9 broken frame...so for sure that can happen also to the undead...

Ya thats pretty obvious logic but after a couple weeks any frame these days should still be rocking. If it doesn't make it through a season at Plattekill then its considered fly weight race material. I see plenty of these frames doing it as well as other carbon DH frames under normal rider conditions. Give one to a big air grabbing pro level rider and you will find out if the design is going to last. Thats why they redesign every season, not getting it right.

Lot of guys riding like pros the undead here in south of France last season on "Alpes" and no one was reporting any issue...

Welcome to Plattekill Mountain NY lol

U d wanna compare Plattekill Mountain to the French Alpes...lolol

  • Shishka

    10/3/2013 6:49 AM

Whos comparing anything except 2 broken Evil Undeads at Plattekill Mountain NY. The rider that accomplished this is actually a big fan of francios alpes but resides near Plattekill. There is no other mountain like it on the planet. Thats why most companies do secret testing there for many decades now. If its going to fail it will happen at Plattekill first. You thought france was above all other mountains lol? Typical frenchies

  • Kodo28

    10/3/2013 11:13 AM

You are totally wrong with your "Typical frenchies" cause I'm not french...and everybody know that France as a lot of amazing mountains...just have a look at top 10 bikes park in the world...2nd , 3rd and 8th places goes to "Frenchies" montaines and I'm not telling it...ahahaha
