Wonder what Mondrakers team line up will be, seeing both Ragot and Brook left that leaves only Spagnolo and Pekol...

Or, because it's a downhill bike, you can ditch all the unnecessary gears, and pull off the last 3 gears on an 9sp 11-32 SLX cassette. This gives you an 11-21 6sd cassette. All the gears you'd ever need, without having to double shift because all your transitions...more

Perfect stopping power!

Rating:

The Good: Power, reliability, performance

The Bad: None worth mentioning

Overall:

Been using this brakes for Downhill for almost 2 years now and I don't think I ever bled them.

My setup is 203mm on the front and 180mm on the back and they really have an amazing modulation and stopping power. Of course they are not as powerful as the Codes, but I even ran an 180mm rotor on the back and don't lack power with the Elixir.

On the adjustability side you only get the lever reach adjust, but for me it has been enough and don't really miss any other adjusting option offered in higher models.

Weight wise they are also very good, and also have the carbon lever option wich is the one I use.

Overall conclusion is that they are not expensive and will worth the money, as they will perform great in all conditions and hold up very well, even with little to no maintenance.

Pricey but very cool!

Rating:

The Good: Angle of filming

The Bad: Shaky sometimes

Overall:

The chest mount is probably my favorite GoPro acessory by far, I just love the angle and perspective you get with it.

It is not cheap for an acessory like this but I do think it is worth it.

The only drawback with it is that sometimes you get a shaky footage if you don't strap it well enough.

Does the job!

Rating:

The Good: Price, durability, reliability

The Bad: Weight, paint wears off too easily

Overall:

I used this cranks for 2 or 3 years and did not have a single problem with them, the only reason I changed them was because of the weight.

If you are building a bike on a budget you should definitely opt for these, you just put them on and forget them.

If, on the other hand, you have weight concerns or if the fact that the paint on them wears very easily puts you out, search for another option.

Bottom of the line is, they do their job, and they do it great, if you're on a budget, go for it.

Excellent DH/FR seat.

Rating:

The Good: Weight, durability

The Bad: Confort for long rides

Overall:

When you are searching for your next seat you may not pay too much atention to the I-Beam options because you can't choose the seatpost and seat independently, but don't see that as a disadvantage.

SDG making both the seat and post makes for a better integration and for a very light, yet strong and durable setup. Also, the setting up of the seat is extremely easy, and the adjustability is great.

Mine has sustained almost 2 years of riding, with your tipical crashes now and then, and the only thing I can complain is that the graphics are wearing off.

Confort wise, if you are into enduro or other similar type of riding, I would advise you to look to other SDG offering, as the I-Fly isn't the best seat for pedalling. But if your thing is Downhill or Freeride I would definately recommend it!

Best flat pedal shoes!

Rating:

The Good: Grip, grip and grip. Also durability.

The Bad: Nothing to point out.

Overall:

I guess by now everyone knows that these are the standart in flat pedal shoes.

They just grip in every situation like I have never seen before.

They may be on the bulky side and have the same look for a number of years now but I personally think they look awesome and feel awesome as well.

As for durability, mine have now almost 3 years and they look like I have just bought them.

Very good for a MX helmet.

Rating:

The Good: The protection of a MX helmet, looks, fit.

The Bad: Weight for DH use

Overall:

Well, I got to start by saying this is a MX helmet and I'm not going to get on the discussion of the DH vs MX helmet thing.

The Air is another great helmet offering from TLD, with the usual great fit and confort.

Goggle wise, I used it with Spy and Oakley ones and didn't have any issue with fitment.

Being a MX helmet it is not light compared to a DH specific helmet but I gotta say that the few times I used it for DH I didn't really feel the weight penalty at all.

If you want the added protection or if you also have a MX bike and only want one helmet then the Air is really a great option for you.

Perfect gloves!

Rating:

The Good: Fit, durability, confort.

The Bad: None worth mentioning.

Overall:

What can I say, another great product from TLD.

The fit and feel on these gloves are simply perfect.

Durability, after almost a year they are pretty new and show no real signs of wear.

The protection on the back isn't as much as some of their other offerings, but I guess it is just the right amount of protection to still be very breathable and feel very confortable.

They also have silicon on the brake fingers to help with the friction on the lever and as of right now it is holding pretty good without any peel.

They may not be the cheapest, although I don't think they are expensive, and you really get what you pay for..

On a side note, be careful with the colour, mine are white and let's just say it is hard to keep them white, but I guess that's a problem with every white piece of clothe you use on the mountain.

Excellent!

Rating:

The Good: Fit, confort, protection

The Bad: None worth mentioning.

Overall:

Great overall Dh/FR glove.

It fits great and is very confortable, I've used them for entire afternoons without any problem. Don't get me wrong, they are not some lightweight XC gloves as they do have pretty good rubber protections on the back, but you just don't notice them as they fit perfectly.

They also have silicone on the brake fingers to help with friction on the brakes and it results great for it, although the silicone tends to peel over time.

Good quality!

Rating:

The Good: Durability, fit, confort.

The Bad: Nothing worth mentioning.

Overall:

I've been using these gloves for about a year and only have good things to say about them.

The fit is close to perfect and so far they have withstand great, and almost don't show any signs of use at all.

Feeling of the brakes is pretty good too.

One of the best value for money gloves for sure...

The best helmet out there!

Rating:

The Good: Looks, fit, leatt and goggle integration.

The Bad: Mostly the high price. Strap system (at least on mine)

Overall:

What can I say, it really is the benchmark.

My previous helmet was the D2 and before that a 661 Evolution Carbon and the D3 is simply the best.

It's not as light as the Evolution carbon but the fit is simply perfect, as is the integration with the leatt brace. Having experimented it with Spy, Oakley and Hebo goggles I had no problems.

For those that use glasses like me it is kind of tough to put them on, but after you set them up they stay put without problems.

Also, I don' know if it was just my specific helmet, but sometimes the strap is really hard to get loose.

Price is high, but the consequences of a bad helmet in a crash are also enormous, and if you do a good search on the web you can get some helmets from the previous season at a good price.
