Sam Hill proves he's the man to beat on rough, loose, gravity-fed courses as he takes the win in the third round of the 2013 Australian Gravity Cup. Troy Brosan was just over one second behind in 2nd place and Jack Moir sealed the deal for 3rd place. Give a shout out to new dad, Ben Cory on his 4th place finish. We know he's had no sleep lately : ) Claire Buchar overcame her injury from the Australian National Champs to take the top step of the podium in the Pro Women's class.

There has been much speculation and plenty of rumors floating around in regards to Kona releasing a carbon downhill frame. We can now confirm that Connor Fearon is in fact testing a prototype model at this weekend's race. Although we weren’t allowed to directly interview anyone from Kona, including Connor himself, about the prototype model, these few shots give you an idea of the sleek, new design that Kona is close to putting into production. I can tell you that this thing is light, 16 kilograms with DH tubes and should get down to 15kg running a tubeless set-up. Suspension linkage is a little different to previous models, as is the shape of the frame towards the seat/top tube area has been changed. Rear travel is set at 200mm, and the bike uses a carbon front end combined with aluminum stays. The head angle is 64-degrees. Combined with the integrated bump stops, internal or external cable routing is an option. All in all this is one sleek, sexy looking frame that we can’t wait to provide you with more information on once we are given the all clear.
